Just like every year this time again, Intelligence Bureau will conduct ACIO Grade-II/Executive Examination in two steps - TIER - I and TIER -II. In this article we are trying to explain you each and everything regarding the IB ACIO Grade-II/Executive Examination Pattern 2017.
Basically TIER - I will consist of Objective type MCQ where as TIER - II will be fully Descriptive type. Candidates would be given 2 hours to write the written test. One hour for TIER-I and Another hour for TIER-II.
TIER -I of IB ACIO Grade-II/Executive Examination 2017
Objective Type 100 MCQ of 100 marks divided into 4 parts containing 25 questions of 1 mark each on
- General Awareness
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Logical/Analytical Ability
- English Language
TIER -II of IB ACIO Grade-II/Executive Examination 2017
Descriptive type
- Essay on one the the given topics(30 marks)
- English Comprehensive writing and Precise Writing(20 marks)

IB ACIO-II/Exe Selection of Candidates - To get selected in IB ACIO-II/Exe you will have to face a written examination(Tier-I and Tier-II) and an Interview. Based on the combined performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and interview, the candidates would be short listed for final selection subject to successful completion of their Character and Antecedent verification followed by medical examination.
- The candidate has to appear in Tier-I at one of the test centres mentioned above.
- There will be negative marking of ¼ mark for each wrong answer in Tier-I.
- No marks would be awarded for an un-attempted question.
- Only those candidates would be called for Tier-II exam who come up to a certain standard in Tier-I. For Tier-II examination, there will be a minimum cut off marks of 33%. 4
- The date, time and centre of Tier-II would be intimated to the successful candidates through the application portal as well as Email ID provided at the time of online registration.
- On the basis of their combined performance in Tier-I and Tier-II, the candidates would be short listed for the interview.
